Travel Guide to Munich, Germany

Its city center is easy to explore on foot, with many pedestrian streets and distractions only for gourmets and shoppers. When your feet are tired, good public transport, easy to get to most of the many attractions in Munich: palaces, museums, galleries, parks and (of course) beer. With an impressive number of annual festivals and events (some lasting weeks), chances are there will be at least one during your stay, keep an ear to the sounds of an oompah band.

The best views of Munich
Church of San Pedro offers stunning views, perfect for photos. You can see the Alps on a side Frauenkirche and Olympic tower on the other, but only when it is clear. We took the quick alarming turn up the Olympic Tower (Olympiaturm) at Olympic Park to catch the panoramic view of Munich. Even with the clouds, it was worth the ticket price. Neuschwanstein Castle is about 50 km southwest of Munich and is a mustsee. Cross the bridge behind the castle to get the most spectacular views. A visit worth and measures, such as the castle overlooking the Bavarian Alps and surrounding lakes are amazing.

where to play

families

Kids will enjoy riding the dragon The Neverending Story and see the famous acrobatic show in the Bavaria Film Studios.
Munich Zoo "has a lovely paddle. Y is located in a beautiful wooded area to walk around and see the animals. Food Stamps She and bathroom.
We spent a long rainy day inside the Deutsches Museum and had a good time. There is a Kinder Museum in the basement with the water present, things to climb and lots of musical instruments pounds. Needless to say it was the best for children.

romance

For an overview of the glockenspiel, go to Cafe Glockenspiel, which is on the fifth floor in the building right across from the glockenspiel at Marienplatz. One of the wonderful cafes and strudel- apple. If you can get tickets, take your true love in an opera at the Bayerische Staatsoper Opera House. Walking hand in hand along the lake staffelsee and enjoy the breathtaking view of the beautiful countryside.

budget

The legendary Staatliches Hofbrauhaus is an absolutely fantastic place to visit. We were a group of young people from England, and we find many nationalities and drank and sang all afternoon. A must for all tourists, and still have the headache to prove it! Visit the Bavarian National Museum (Bayerisches Nationalmuseum) on when the ticket price is only one euro. We were enthralled by Tilman Riemenschneider carved 15th century Marienplatz is a pedestrian area in the old town of Munich. We sat in a cafe and enjoyed snacks and a beer, waiting for the glockenspiel to perform.

adventure

Olympic Park, you can swim in the Olympic pool, if you are so inclined or even climb on the roof of the stadium. There are many paths through the gardens are well maintained and safe. Best known for hosting Oktoberfest, Theresienwiese is also home to the Frhlingsfest (Spring Festival) and the Christmas Market, where, out of mulled wine, you can also get a hot Caipirinha, a good thing in December. Try not to miss Hirsch Garden, the largest beer garden in Europe, with a capacity for 8000! It is a must for beer, the outside environment and the food.

Education / History

What a great concentration of art and furniture and the rooms are great! We were allowed to take the Royal Palace Residenz at our own pace, not rushed through like a tour. I would say this is a must-see in Munich. Old Pinakothek (Alte Pinakothek) is one of the best galleries in the world. First German works are outstanding. Ten kilometers from Munich, "the Dachau concentration camp was very informative and revealing. Would recommend anyone to go and see what really happened. Now is a quiet and peaceful place where you can hire a guide hand and walking pace .

relaxation

Do not miss the opportunity to slowly walk in the gardens of Nymphenburg Palace (Schloss Nymphenburg) and admire each of the sculptures. My only regret about the English Garden (Englischer Garten) no longer happening. There are miles of biking and hiking trails and soccer games being played. The highlight of my trip was allowed to join a game.
Seehaus Biergarten is one of my favorite places in time to relax and watch the swans on the lake.

Where to eat

families

Dinner at Peterhof, a very good family style restaurant with excellent food, especially the homemade bread and sweet mustard. Yum! The Hofbrauhaus was very friendly, and the menu items at a reasonable price. The daily specials are a good deal and can be very good. My kids loved the "big pretzels as flyers" (his description) sold at the kiosk on the ground floor. We had dinner and breakfast Weisses Brauhaus famous in Munich, one of the oldest restaurants in Germany in Munich.

romance

If you want to splurge, go to Tantris. This is French / European luxury with a fantastic menu. But take your credit card! We went for our anniversary, and it's great for a special occasion.

I was invited by a native to an "unexplored" Wonderful Italian restaurant, Dal Vecio. It is very romantic with good food (not so easy to find in Munich). He is in the embassy district, one of the most exclusive and beautiful Munich. Worth the trip! Try the incredible La Bouche. Be sure to book in advance. It is intimate, romantic and delicious cuisine and is quite expensive!
